Britax Australia Configurable Website
The Challenge
Britax Australia sells child safety products under the Safe-n-Sound and Steelcraft labels. Britax wanted a website designed for them which allowed them to showcase their organisation, products and the retailers that stock individual prodcts. They wanted to have ongoing control of this information without needing to bring in developers. They also wanted to be able to control the font sizes and styles used within their website without requiring knowledge of CSS or requiring coding changes.
The Solution
Hyperware designed Britax’s website (http://www.britax.com.au) using Lotus Notes/Domino to allow them to flexibly add content about their organisation, stores and individual products. Hyperware built within the application a flexible mechanism for Britax to be able to control the styles used to present their data. This was done through a point and click interface where users could choose colours from palettes instead of having to know the exact colour code.
The Result
The resulting application allows users to specify the font size and style all within a wysiwig environment. This allows staff to change styles quickly and easily and then Hypeware's code automatically converts their chosen styles to the required CSS needed for their web pages.
Each product includes a Store Locater function to show clients stores close to them that stock that particular product. This functionality utilises an XML transformation interface to the Domino application that stores the data.
